Concannon, Miller & Co. P.C. is pleased to announce the formation of a strategic partnership with Compass Point, a regional business consulting firm owned by Tom Garrity.

While we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the firm this year, we continue to look for new ways to deliver services that are relevant to the growing needs of our clients.   "This strategic partnership brings an added dimension to our services that includes strategy, succession, and exit planning, critical services in today's business environment," states Kelly Meyer, CPA and Managing Shareholder at Concannon, Miller. "The dynamics of business have changed," said Meyer, "Certain compliance services, such as filing tax returns or performing an audit are more like a commodity. They are required of the business by either governmental or perhaps banking institutions, but do not provide added value to the business or owner. Business owners need advice and experience to move their business forward, remain profitable, and be able to transition into their next phase." Doing business in 38 states, Concannon, Miller's client base is primarily closely-held business in manufacturing, franchise, services, healthcare and high-net-worth individuals. We focus on a core service grouping, that includes providing tax planning and strategies, CFO services, audit and accounting, business valuations, financial analysis, estate planning and other services critical to privately held businesses and their owners.

Where there is enough demand we either develop or hire talent in-house or bring a solid partnership under our roof, such as this partnership with Compass Point or Concannon Wealth Management; where there is a key significant need with lower demand, we search for alliances with best of breed providers that specialize in that service such as engineered tax services or research and experimentation credits. The model has been successful for us, but more importantly benefits our clients. There is a bit of quarterback consulting involved--we're clear on the mission, we call the play and we have the specialized teams to execute it," said Meyer.
